Lo Wang gets a task from Yakuza to retrieve an ancient trinket from the Temple of Longing. Killing enemies will level up weapons and reward the player with gems to augment their equipment with element properties and buffs. The game features over 70 different weapons, varying between firearms and blades. The game utilizes a procedural damage system that allows players to cut and blow off enemy limbs and body parts. Every mission, except for story-specific events, will feature procedurally generated level design and content, including randomized enemy positions, terrain, buildings, and weather conditions.

Green Orbs: Green Orbs are the most common orbs.Shadow Orbs can be obtained by winning fights in Eclipse, bought from raids shop for 299 gems (quantity increases as the player progresses further in the story) or winning them from the Mystery Box. Later, Sensei also instructs Shadow to use his power to invoke the Eclipse, which can grant him more Shadow Orbs. Shadow is then given a free simple enchantment on his armor. Sensei goes on to say that there is a blacksmith who in gratitude, offers to readily forge enchantments for Shadow on his equipment if Shadow can only obtain more of the Shadow Orbs and then directs him to the shop.
